The McDonald’s in Regina’s Harbour Landing neighbourhood will be closed for a period of time after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

In a release sent out by McDonald’s Canada, the company said the employee at the 4910 Gordon Rd. location reported they tested positive on Tuesday. The last shift the worker completed was on Sunday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The company decided to shut down the restaurant for a thorough cleaning and sanitation by a third-party cleaning company. The restaurant will reopen after direction from public health authorities is given.

All McDonald’s employees who may have been in close contact with the employee have been asked to self-quarantine until further information is available.

Any guests who may have visited the restaurant on Sunday are being asked to take directions from the local public health experts.
